Day 18

My friend drew a portrait of me - it's pretty accurate. It looks like me when I've bumped my hip on a timpani for the nth time. Thanks boB!

Day 17

Two things today. First, LOOK AT ALL THE VEGETABLES I PICKED TODAY! There's a lot of vegetables!

Secondly, THIS IS A REALLY LONG BEAN!

Day 16

I made a fascinator, since I'm going to the races tomorrow! It's a hair comb, onto which I glued feathers, two lace ruffles, a googly eye, curly ribbons, and a weird button dingle-dangle.

Day 15

This little man goes with the jazz guitar of yesterday. It's a felt version of my friend Dave, and is a present for his 21st birthday. It sort of looks like him, except less angry.

Day 14

I made a felt jazz guitar. It's gonna go with a felt person! I'm a bit proud of it.

Day 13

My friend drew a portrait of me on a foam cup. The resemblance is STRIKING.

Day 12

Long exposure torch battle extreme!

Day 11

You know what my valentine's day present was? Buttons!

Best. Gift. Ever.

So I spent the best part of four days putting them in order of colour, type, size, number of holes, and coolness. And taking photos of them.

These ones are my favourite buttons - the white flower in the middle is a really nice glass button.

Shiny buttons!

All buttons!

I missed a few days.

I didn't make any stuff for three days! I made music, but it was fairly intangible. More l8rz. I might actually get up-to-date. Ha ha ha.

Day 07

More than being arty, this photograph is interesting and historic.

This photograph was taken at about 9:45 on the 13th of February, on the lawns of Parliament House. This was when everyone turned their backs on Brendan Nelson. If you enlarge the photo you can see him clearly on the screen. Angry faces!

It was a fantastic experience. Rudd said a good speech, but Nelson said things that were *obviously* going to cause a bad reaction.

Day 06

This portrait is scratched into a Japanese fortune-telling card. It's like a scratchie, except you only scratch one panel out of four. And the one you scratch is your fortune for the year! Chucky's fortune was a picture of a mouse in a princess dress... so we assume that his fortune is to be a pretty princess. So this portrait is him with his princess crown on.

Okay, I didn't actually *do* all of this, but I did photograph it. It's hard to see...

Day 05 Continued...

Now that Valentine's day has been and gone, I can post what I made.

From Aranzi Aronzo's Cute Book: Alien

"He came from space on a UFO.
Even after becomming a felt mascot,
he's still not that cute.
That's precisely his charm."

Day 05

I made a thing. Except, I can't blog about it until Valentine's Day for... reasons.

Day 04

Today a photo, which looks more like a weird painting. Taken with long exposure at night time.

I really like this part of the photo. It's my friend sitting with my dog.

Day 03

Today my friends and I made some ridiculous pants. We went to the shops on a mission to find some "Aladdin pants", and then decided that they looked easy to make. They're basically a square folded in half and sewed up the sides, leaving a gap for your feet and waist. Very baggy, and good for making other costumes.

Day 02

Da-da-da, da-da-da! I'll fill in the white bits another time!

Day 01

I admit it - I didn't make this whole bag today. But I did FINISH it today... so that counts. I used MachenMachen's Wasp Bag pattern, with a couple of alterations. It was pretty tricky in some bits, but I think it turned out okay.
The bag shell material is just some el-cheapo bargain bin stuff, which just so happened to match the pretty Japanese fabric of the handles. The lining is faux-satin with sharks on it - so slippery and difficult to cut and sew!

Thing-A-Day for Lent!

I missed this year's Thing-A-Day! I saw it right before registration opened, and I thought "Yes, I will do that" and now it's already February!

So

I decided to do my own Thing-A-Day for Lent, rather than giving something up. I'll attempt to create one thing every day starting tomorrow, except for Sundays - that's the 40 days of Lent. It could be craft, art, music, writing, photography, cooking, or comics - anything. It's going to be tough, but at the same time exciting. It will really help me develop some mad skillz (hopefully).

Duckie brooch

Broochy brooch!
Who likes the little little duckies in the pond? I do, I do, I do, a chikka quack quack...
